Terms of Service

Last updated:

1. About the site and characters

The McMidgey Clan is a fictional clan inspired by Scotland and its folklore. This site shares its characters, artwork and stories, and provides a community space.

The site is run by The McMidgey Clan. For questions about these terms, email mcmidgey@hotmail.com.

2. This site is an early beta

The McMidgey Clan website is an early beta version. It is still being built and tested.

Features may change, break or be removed. Chat messages, accounts and other data could be lost or reset while we improve the site. Please keep your own copy of anything important.

We are still improving accessibility. Some parts may not yet work as well as they should, for example:

  • some images may be missing descriptive alt text;
  • some pages may not be fully usable with the keyboard alone;
  • some colours may have low contrast;
  • screen reader support has not been fully tested.

If you find a problem or cannot use a part of the site, email mcmidgey@hotmail.com and tell us what happened. We will try to fix it, or give you another way to get the same information.

3. Your account

Give us accurate account details and an email address you can use. Keep them up to date. A display name does not need to be your real name, but must not pretend to be someone else.

Keep your password private. Each account is for one person. Do not share access to it. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

We will send you service messages about your account, such as password resets. These are not marketing.

4. Community and chat rules

Be kind and treat other members with respect.

  • No harassment, threats or hate.
  • No spam or flooding the chat with repeated messages.
  • Do not share personal details, whether yours or someone else's.
  • Do not post unlawful content or content you have no right to share.

Moderators can delete messages and remove accounts that break these rules. Contact mcmidgey@hotmail.com to report a concern.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you give us permission to store and display it on this site for the community to read.

This does not transfer ownership to us. Only post content you own or have permission to share.

6. Our content

The McMidgey Clan characters, artwork, crest, stories and text belong to the clan's creator or owners. They may not be copied or sold without permission.

To ask for permission, email mcmidgey@hotmail.com.

7. Shop and refunds

The shop is coming soon. No sales are available through it yet.

8. No guarantees

The site is provided "as is". We do not promise that it will always be available or free from errors.

Plans for collectibles, partnerships or tourism projects are not promises. Stories about the fictional clan are not factual tourism claims or guarantees about services.

AI replies may be wrong. Do not treat them as verified facts or professional advice.

9. Limits of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. These terms do not affect your legal rights as a consumer.

The site is a free early beta. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by using the site or by not being able to use it, such as lost data, lost chat messages, or lost profit or opportunities.

We do not check chat messages before they appear. We are not responsible for what members post, but we will remove content that breaks our rules when we find out about it.

10. Problems, complaints and reports

If you have a problem or complaint, please email mcmidgey@hotmail.com first. Tell us what happened and we will try to put it right.

If you think something on the site is unlawful or uses your work without permission (for example copyright), email mcmidgey@hotmail.com with the page address and details. We will look at it and may remove it while we do.

This does not stop you from using any legal rights or complaint routes you have.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account in Account Settings. You can also email mcmidgey@hotmail.com to ask for help.

We may remove your account if you break the community rules or misuse the site. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when your account ends.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the site develops. We will show the new wording here and change the Last updated date.

Governing law: Scotland.
